Borne from the residual ashes of Dragon heart (Dragonforce´s predecessor), Power Quest – have always been one of those bands that´s thrashed about on the gound level of metal, seemingly unable to rise to the first floor. Despite a revised lineup, tonight´s static performance illustrates why. Their power metal-by-numbers (with minimal emphasis on the power part) sounds like a bad Van Halen tribute band while new frotman Pete Morton has about as much charisma as a limp lettuce. Maybe it´s nerves but this in the sort of thing that nu metal slaughtered back in the 90s. It means that by the time Tarja comes on, the bar has been seriously lowered and she´s got fairly easy ride. Over the last few years she´s been busy establishing herself as a solo artist, without any mention of those Nightwish boys who brought her out of the classical arena and into the world pf symphonic metal. Given this, it´s somewhat suprising that she should include some of their songs in tonight´s set. Complete with several costume changes, Tarja´s performance is strong but her vocals feel soules against the background lacklustre classical-meets-metal. Sadly her solo material is simply mediocre and testament to the stark reality that on her own, Tarja is really nothing special. Given what a dynamic force she used to be, tonight´s performance is a bitter disappointment.

>>>>>>>****>>>>>>****>>>>>>> I arrived to the concert with Bexrt and Majka some hours sooner, Pájuš and her really great mum joined us in a while (big kiitos for the flowers). In the concert hall we of course stood in the first board, opposite to Maria Very Happy Support band (Sunity), which started to play, realized very quickly that fans had come to see Tarja and went away after a couple of songs. But I have to stress that guys from Sunity were really great and they´re definitely worth of going to their show. While the technicians were giving away the instruments of support band and Taneli was checking Tarja´s band´s instruments, some nice moments happened. E.g. screaming: "Tarja, Tarja, Tarja, Soile, Soile, Soile, Susanna, Susanna, Susanna, Turunen,Turunen, Turunen, Cabuli, Cabuli, Cabuli!" followed by screaming „Marcelo“, all the times when Tarja´s husband appeared on the stage (he is very popular between WS CZ members). In the end we all were rewarded by waving (that guy is really sympathetic). After that, the stage got a bit murky (probably the effects) and Tarja´s band went there. At the beginning we were yelling „Maria, Maria“ and got beautiful smile and waving. Then the first tones started, our ice queen came ( excellently fresh) and caressed our eardrums with her wonderful voice. Immediately during the first song ENOUGH, it was obvious that the whole audience has the lyrics of songs at their fingertips. The atmosphere was really great, we all sung, headbanged and yelled. Doug even once climbed at a case and enjoyed his solo. Tarja stereo-headbanged with Max, played virtual guitar with Kiko and mainly communicated with passionate gestures with the audience. Kiko and Mike performed absolutely great solo, but the rest of the band wasn´t worse. Maria once saved the situation when Tarja went off a tone (nobody´s perfect and at least assholes can´t assert that she sings on playback). Kiko´s guitar once fell at the beginning of a song, but as we saw, he´s a professional and FANTASTIC musician and got the whole situation under control. During the song Sleeping sun the audience got very emotional, and Tarja too. The fans sang so loudly that I didn´t hear Tarja in the first board, and that speaks for everything. I´ve almost forgotten, Tarja saluted us with cute „ Dobrý večer“ at the beginning and then she thanked us even cuter : „Žakujem pekne“. At the end of the show, we emited Bexrt and Majka to climb over the barriers and give her the project and gifts, and give the bouquet to Maria. (I threw Tarja´s bouquet at the stage during the show, but I wanna believe that she overlooked it and a song later, after Terrana´s solo, she spurned it into the backstage very decently Very Happy). Tarja and Maria thanked the girls and it could have been seen that the whole band liked the atmosphere of show. After the show, I and Daniela waited under the stage and in a couple of minutes some guy came and told that Maria was waiting for us. We climbed through the stage, where Tarja had moved some minutes before, the technicians were pulling down the stage all around us, and Max with his cello was behind one of the cases Very Happy Maria saluted us very friendly and kindly. She started looking for a good place for interview. Finally we seated in one smaller hall and recorded very nice interview with Maria. She was incredibly friendly, talked to us for long time even after the interview and when I asked her about some things from piano theory (it was something about chords in Oasis, Daniela´s note), she explained it very kindly. She´s really nice person. When she was leaving, she huged us really sincerely. Daniela asked her to call Kiko, Maria ran away and came back with Kiko in a while. We did a short interview with him, he gave us his picks and signatures. He was very funny, joked all the time and wanted to learn to say „trsátko“ (pick in Czech/Slovak language), I have to admit that he learned to say it very good. All good things come to an end, so also out trip to the backstage ended and we went out of the hall to the tourbus, to wait for Tarja. A really unpleasant surprise waited for us outside, fans near to the bus smoked and blocked not only the door to the bus, but even the rear exit from the hall. Nor our insistence helped, they didn´t accept the fact that Tarja would be nervous. We had luck and Max came out, fans went to him to collect signatures and loosened the way. Max joked during the whole time, a while ago also Doug came out, Kiko appeared for a couple of minutes, Marcelo too (but no Slovak fans took note of him because they didn´t know who he was Very Happy). I and Bexrt asked him for a signature and photos, he was very kind and friendly- as always. (One funny moment- when I asked him to do sign of the horns with me at the photo, he refused and told me that his woman would to that- it was funny because we all know that Czech translation of this sentence is really funny Very Happy) Besides it he told us that Tarja would come in a while. In one moment Tarja went out, Bexrt called her, Tarja turned, smiled, said „no“ and continued. (poor girl, she didn´t know what was waiting for her near to the bus). Security fortunately got the whole situation under control, Tarja was giving signatures near the bus and while Marcelo was eating pizza in the warm bus, Tarja was looking at the never-ending crowd of fans, who was pressing forward to her (I really felt sorry for her in that while). Unfortunately, during first signatures and photos she really looked nervously and displeasured because of the hold-up (she hurried to Spain and wanted to leave immediately after the show. This resulted into the thing that everybody has only one chance to take photo and one, maximum two signatures. When I had my turn, she was already OK and smiled everywhere around her, though I think that everybody would understand if she refused to sign at all (in such horrible circumstances). In the end it was paid off, to wait, just to see her smile. (I´d like to ask all the fans to behave like human beings, not like hunting animals... what about letting her at least one metre of free space to be able to move???) When Tarja finished giving signatures and we went to look for a taxi, we were lucky and Tarja´s bus went right next to us. Bexrt, Majka and I sterted to wave, the driver flashed at us and when the bus was passing, the band waved at us Very Happy In the end I can say that the atmosphere was wonderful and Slovak audience was really great, sang and sang, and not only loudly, but even clearly! Really beauty, it´s damage that it turned into such things near to the bus...

We plan to do Summer-FC Meetings: MINI-MEETING in Ziar nad Hronom (24.6.),exact time will be specified later.
At the end of the summer (22.8.) is planning a big fan club meeting in BRNO. It is planned for 2 days, but of course you can attend just one day, or afternoon;) depends on you ->how long you will have fun with us.

In the meantime, is planned:
1. Day: Arrival to Brno - meeting point: main train station. Tour of the town and Špilberk-castle. CONCERT NIGHTWISH REVIVAL (really a great revival-band! We can nostalgically remember the good old times and enjoy a lot of fun).
2. Day: Walk around Brno (Gallery, museum, or another program -depends on you) Chat in the "pub".

Participation in the meeting is not subject to membership in the fan club, the participants are presumed penchant for Tarja. All candidates are welcome!

The first fanclub meeting, Prague, 18.4.2009

Everything started at 11:00 at Venceslav´s square in Prague. When all members came there, we went for a walk by the same way where Tarja (laughing and happy after taking photos by the horse at the square). By Prašná brána we took a photo with MWS on the place where Tarja did. (And again we laughed a lot, because of some funny stories). After that (some people thought that we must be crazy), we took some money to give it to the musician to play Happy Birthday for Tarja. But because of the rain he told us (we predicted he studied conservatory for 10 years at least) that his violin would be wet (despite of it wasn´t raining anymore) and went away. We went to finnish embassy and Charles bridge. After we passed japanese and danish embassy, we found that finnish one, which was closed, but who cares? Of course we had to took a photo there and then we went to look for some restaurant where we could have some food, Finally we found a sympatic pub (unfortunately we can´t say the same about the waiters there), so we sat there and started talking about fanklub. Instead of we talked about the thing that we prepare for Benátská noc and about birthday project, we had very nice time with unforgettable cods of Bexrt. I have to say that there wasn´t even one minute when I would´t be dead because of the laugh. Then, drinking coffee, beers and mattoni, we disclosed the mystery of the open letter and striked a balance of Anette Olzon´s work with NW and talked about personalities of NW-members. We disclosed all the mysteries about Tarja and talked about her concerts. It took several hours. Unfortunately some people had to leave, but the rest of us (after waiter´s speech) also had to leave. We decided to go back to town centre, talked about Tarja´s piano technique and charisma of her new group and about many other important things. Then we went to McDonalds, where we spoke about various kinds of metal, emo, hip-hop and about las t Rock-Pop magazine. We ended with some jokes about Tarja (once I were laughing 15 minutes). About 19:00 Bexrt gave us a permit to go and we went home. I thing that our first meeting was very good and we had a lot of fun. So I´m looking forward to see all again! \m/

Účastníci o srazu:

Sešli jsme se něco málo po 11. hodině pod koněm na Václavském náměstí. Naše naprosto normálně vyhlížející (dle mého skromného názoru , ostatní asi soudili jinak) skupinka ihned upoutala docela velké množství kolemjdoucích, kteří se jali fotit to, jak se fotíme. Pak jsme se vydali na procházku po centru Prahy (Prašná brána, Orloj, Karlův most a finská ambasáda). Na každém z těchto míst došlo na focení pro projekt i pro jiné účely, které zaujalo kolemjdoucí poněkud víc, než jsme čekali. Focení nám velmi často ztěžovaly neovladatelné záchvaty smíchu. Pod Orlojem jsme se jen tak tak vyhnuli srážce s koňským povozem, na finské ambasádě si v době našeho příchodu zrovna vychutnávali oběd, chtěli jsme se k nim jít přidat, ale pak jsme se dohodli, že to asi není nejlepší nápad. Bohužel neúspěšně jsme přemlouvali pouličního houslistu, aby nám za jistý finanční obnos zahrál do narozeninového projektu Happy Birthday, on odmítl, prý kvůli dešti, ale spíš se zalekl tolika (neškodně vyhlížejících) lidí. Kolem jedné hodiny odpoledne všem vyhládlo, a tak jsme se odebrali do jedné hospůdky, kde jsme pokračovali v řešení zábavných fanklubových aktivit. Podle mě by se takové srazy měly konat hodně často, protože se na nich hodně nasmějeme a jak je známo, smích prodlužuje život.

Cesta vlakem uběhla vcelku rychle, ale příjezd do Prahy byl poněkud chladnější, zvláště když jsme za sebou zanechali slunečné Brno. No, snad příště. Každopádně setkání s ostatními bylo sice zprvu poněkud rozpačité (kromě Malonka, která s nama jela z Brna, takže jsme měli tři hoďky času se poznat a Namelessa, kterého jsme znali ze Zlína), ale řeč se brzy velmi rychle rozproudila a za chvíli byli všichni na pohodu.
Procházka po Praze nakonec taky dopadla dobře, jemný deštík, který nás zkropil, nám náladu zkazit nemohl. Sice nás připravil o nepochybně bezvadnou hudební produkci, ale já si stejně myslím, že se nás ten člověk spíš lekl a déšť byla jen výmluva :-) (blíže vysvětlí Tilly). Hlavně že jsem nakonec našli to finské velvyslanectví!
Restauračka, ve které jsme nakonec zakotvili, byla taky vcelku na pohodu, akorát výčepnímu chyběl smysl pro humor, což ale nevadilo, páč jsme si vystačili sami. Hlavně Bexrt s Tilly všechny ostatní bavili a nakonec guláš a pivko bylo výborný ;-)
Uteklo to ale dost rychle a my zdaleka jsem se sbírali k odchodu jako první, čekala nás ještě dlouhá cesta zpět (mimochodem tímto děkuji Gaskinovi, který šel obětavě s námi a ukázal nám cestu na nádraží, nebýt jeho, možná po Praze bloudíme doteď :-) )
Cesta zpátky opět utekla, ale absolutně nesnáším kočky....dřevěný...(blíže vysvětlí Malonek). Každopádně jsem ráda, že jsem měla možnost ostatní poznat, jsou to fajn lidi a já se těším na další sraz.

18. dubna nastal den, na který jsem se já a určitě nejen já velmi těšila. Celkem se sešlo 14 členů fan clubu. Všichni jsme dostali samolepky se jmény. Od sochy koně na Václavském náměstí se mělo jít rovnou na místa, kde se fotila Tarja, tedy Prašnou bránu a most Legií, ale protože jsem měla vést já, byla cesta trochu zamotaná, ale nakonec jsme se k první zastávce, tedy Prašné bráně, přeci jen dostali :-D Zde jsme se vyfotili s CD My Winter Storm v ruce. Pak jsme si na ulici všimli hudebníka s houslemi, tak jsme ho chtěli uplatit, aby nám zahrál pro Tarju Happy Birthday:-D Ale pouliční umělec nám nevyhověl, protože začínalo pršet a on nechtěl, aby mu zmokly housle. Vydali jsme se tedy na další cestu.
Naštěstí déšť brzy přestal. Rozhodli jsme se jít na Karlův most (viz. "Ty sochy jsou pos*aný! :-D"), kde bychom mohli najít dalšího hudebníka, který by byl ochotný nám zahrát. Nikoho vhodného jsme bohužel nenašli. Přemýšleli jsme co dál, a pak někoho napadlo jít před finské velvyslanectví a začít tam křičet "Tarja, Tarja!" :-D Nakonec jsme ho našli, ale bylo zavřené, tak jsme se u něho aspoň vyfotili.
Protože většina skupiny dostala hlad, sháněli jsme místo, kde bychom se mohli najíst. Po neúspěšném prozkoumání pochybné hospody "Hugo z hor" jsme zapluli do menší, ale celkem útulné hospody blízko Újezdu, kde nabízeli pouze tři jídla a ani jedno nebylo k jídlu. Zdi byly polepeny nálepkami s nejrůznějšími motivy a samozřejmě jsme si nemohli odpustit zanechat po sobě památku v podobě fanclubové samolepky:-D Jediné plus si u mě tato restaurace získala tím, že zde pouštěli mé oblíbené rádio Beat. Postupně se začali vytrácet účastníci srazu. A asi po dvou hodinách nás z hospody vyrazili úplně všechny.
Vraceli jsme se zpět do centra Prahy. Po nekonečném proplétání uličkami náš sraz nemohl skončit nikde jinde než v McDonaldu, kde jsme strávili taktéž asi dvě hodiny, ale s tím rozdílem, že nás nikdo nevyhodil. Rozebírali jsme věci možné i nemožné (hlavně ty nemožné) a když už nám začínala být zima a usoudili jsme, že by bylo dobré jít domů, šli jsme ven. Každý dostal na památku ještě samolepku s nápisem "Vydržel/a do 19:00" :-D. A v 19:00 se sraz nadobro rozpustil.
